One thing that most people associate Arnold Schwarzennegger with is his villainous role in Terminator. In his 50 years of movie-making, Arnold has cemented his reputation in the movie industry and has become a mega-star. There are a lot of classic movies that Schwarzennegger has produced over the years. It is pretty hard to distinguish his films since they are all a marvel. All the same, here is a top 7 list of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
From the original Terminator, Arnold takes the role of killing Sarah Conor before she bores the leader of an army that fights with his robot brother. Now in this sequel, Arnold is sent to protect Sarah and her son from the terminators. From the storyline, the only thing that can destroy the Terminator is by submerging it in a giant molten metal vat.
The emotion-packed and non-stop action in this movie make it the most outstanding film that Schwarzennegger has ever featured.
2. Predator (1987)
In this film, Arnold takes the role of Dutch Schaefer. Dutch and his team of special-ops commandos go to a mission in the deep Central America jungle for a rescue mission. In the task, they find themselves preys of extraterrestrial being that can camouflage with the environment.
Each member of the team gets picked by the being leaving Dutch as the only surviving member of the team. The whole scene in the jungle provides a riveting one hour and forty-five minutes of the screenplay that is worthy of your time.
3. The Terminator (1984)
Ironically, O.J Simpson was supposed to take the play of Terminator until James Cameron pointed out that O. J could not manage to take up the role of a remorseless killer. Later on, Arnold manages to take up the part based on his former role in Conan the Barbarian.
As the story goes, Arnold is a cyborg who has to time-travel from 2029 to kill the mother of a future resistance army. Arnold encounters Kylee Reese, who is human, to protect Sarah (the mother to the cyborg leader), which turns out to be a greasy encounter. Well, the sequel overshadows this movie, but it still manages to keep a thriller to the delight of its fan.
4. Total Recall (1990)
Total Recall is a true sci-fi movie that has outdone its release period. Its plot is set in 2084, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid. He is a construction worker who has a problem dreaming about Mars and a mysterious woman residing there.
Douglas visits a company known as Rekall to provide a memory implant of his dream vacation. Something goes on with the implant process, forcing the company to wipe his memory and send him home.
Arnold realizes that his life was based on an implant, and he lived as a secret agent. This prompts him to go back to Mars, which results in an action-filled encounter. The movie might lack the modern touch in the effects; it still holds a position of a high powered sci-fi action movie.
5. True Lies (1994)
In most movies, Arnold has featured as an action-filled severe character. However, in this movie, there is a sense of humor that adds to it, especially with Arnold’s double life. He makes his family believe that he is a computer salesman, although, in the real sense, he is a super spy working for the US government.
Inevitably, his wife gets involved in a case that makes them work together to fight an Islam militant organization. From the storyline, this is an action-packed movie that is the best for family entertainment.
6. Conan the Barbarian (1982)
This movie base its plot in a mythical Hyborian Age. As a young boy, Conan witnesses his people being massacred by an evil wizard known as Thulsa Doom. Conan is taken to captivity along with other people, and he is forced to work in a mill for years.
His exposure makes him grow to a strong man who is sold to another master who trains him as a gladiator. He eventually earns his freedom and goes searching for Thulsa Doom to seek revenge for the death of his parents.
The movie might be one of his earliest films that he features as a starring role, but it stands to be a compelling adventure movie worth your attention.
7. Commando (1985)
In this non-stop action-filled movie, Arnold Schwarzennegger takes the role of John Matrix. He is a retired special-ops commando whose daughter gets kidnapped by a psychotic dictator. From the play, he gets hold of the captor and kills everyone who tries to come his way during the rescue. The movie might be a bit outdated compared with modern films, but it still holds a record screenplay that suits its release dates.
