Why Little Women is The Best Feminist Movie 2020
Little Women is, without a doubt, the best feminist movie 2020. The story depicts the struggle of a woman with four daughters during the civil war era. She manages to bring them up no matter the struggle and the loss of their family fortune to strong women. Jo March, the writer struggles to get her story published in New York after declining two marriage proposals by wealthy suitors. She is convinced that women are not only fit to love and bear children. Beth is a talented pianist who has a vested interest in helping people. Amy, who is an artist, although she didn’t make it in her career, helps in nurturing other artists by funding them. Meg loves acting and wants to live a much better life.
Gerwig relays the story well, bringing out the lives of the March family. The writer shows how women were treated in the time and the discrimination they went through, but through her, we see how women can triumph when they work hard at what they love.
